Hugh Adin - Greater Ottawa Metropolitan Area | Professional Profile | LinkedIn
Hugh has extensive experience implementing BIM/digital processes on major projects and across organisations through New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Hugh began his career as a mechanical engineer leading BIM for mechanical subcontractors. During this time Hugh gained experience in mechanical design, construction detail modelling, coordination and seismic design for building services. Inspired by the capabilities and achievements of experienced BIM experts on a healthcare mega project Hugh went on to work with several tier one contractors to lead BIM on major projects, drive process uptake and effect cultural change amongst staff in traditional roles. While working for main contractors Hugh developed a keen interest in BIM strategy and adoption for large and complex organisations. This interest led Hugh to work for a major asset owner and drive the adoption of BIM as a core business activity across New Zealand's National Grid.
Healthcare, life sciences, residential, Airports, education, high voltage transmission and substations are some of the asset types Hugh has experience delivering and has allowed Hugh to build a thorough and detailed understanding of BIM workflows, technical requirements, change management methods and programme management knowledge.
This experience has enabled Hugh to develop an excellent understanding of the opportunities, challenges and requirements for successful adoption of the process across all stages of the asset Lifecyle and all tiers in the supply chain.
